Organix Moroccan Argon Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

For the last few months I have been on the search for a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Having naturally thick and curly hair, my hair has become extremely dry and prone to breakage due to the amount of washing, drying and styling I put it through in order to maintain it and get it to behave how I want it to.

I’ve read a few mixed reviews on the Moroccan Argon Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and therefore had been put off of trying it in the past. However, the Organix line was recently on offer in Boots, 2 for £8 instead of £6.99 each, so I decided to give them a go.

Both the shampoo and conditioner contain Moroccan oil and is said to “instantly penetrate the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while helping to strengthen and create soft, seductive, silky perfection”.  The shampoo has a jelly consistency and lathers up really well on the hair giving the feeling of a good deep clean. The conditioner had a thick, creamy consistency which I used from the roots to the tips of my hair and then left for 5 minutes before rinsing out.

After towel drying my hair I wasn’t very impressed. My hair was hard and straw like and my I’d felt like it had done the complete opposite of what I needed. HOWEVER, after blow drying and straightening my hair my opinion changed completely. My hair felt soft and silky and after two week of using it every other day I definitely noticed that the condition of my hair had improved.

I feel that these products, although not on the cheap side, are a great alternative to the more expensive Moroccan oil treatments out there!

OPI Holland Collection

I’d had my eye on the new OPI Holland collection for a few weeks and decided to pick up the Dutch Treats mini set on a recent shopping trip. The set comes with four colours; “I have a herring problem” – a shimmery bluey-green, “Red Lights Ahead...Where?” – a coral red,  “Kiss Me on My Tulips” – a hot pink and “Pedal Faster Suzi!” – a shimmery pale pink/lavender.

From left to right: "I have a herring problem", "Red Lights Ahead...Where?", Kiss me on My Tulips"   & Pedal Faster Suzi".
Both of the non shimmery shades will give you opaque coverage after one coat, however the shades containing shimmer do benefit with two to three coats in order to bring out their colours vibrancy. I think this is the perfect set for transitioning between winter and spring as it has the combination of both dark and brights.

I have always avoided buying the mini sets as I felt the application would take forever considering the smaller brush. However, I was pleasantly surprised and the application process was no longer than usual and I will definitely be looking to purchase the mini sets in future.
