Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish – 33 Lollipop

Adding to my ever expanding nail polish collection I recently branched out from Barry M and decided to give the Max Factor Max Effect nail polishes a go. I picked up Lollipop (33) along with a few others (blog posts to come later!) as they were on offer in Superdrug down from £3.99 to £2.99. Lollipop is a matte nail polish in a deep hot pink colour. I was extremely impressed with the consistency, giving me an opaque coverage after just one coat! I can see how people would not be a fan of the small nail brush but I felt it allowed extra precision. I will definitely be on the lookout for more of these Max Factor polishes! :)

Batiste Dry Shampoo – a hint of colour dark & deep brown

I’ve been trying to get myself out of the routine of washing my hair every day. As my hair is naturally curly dealing with it on the second day is often a nightmare and washing it seems like my only option. However, this has been drying my hair out even further by stripping out the natural oils and over use of shampoo and conditioner. As a result I have been turning to straightening my hair after washing, which is so much easier to style on second and even third day hair.

In order to prevent my hair looking oily and to boost its volume I have been using the Batiste dry shampoo specifically for dark and deep brown hair colours. I have used other Batiste dry shampoos in the past but I prefer this one by far! You aren’t left with the white residue which is often a problem for darker hair colours making your hair look grey, (not a good look!). It definitely keeps the oil at bay and adds volume to flat second/third day hair!

Barry M Nail Paint – 324 Silvery Lilac

For years I have been obsessed with Barry M nail paint, so I couldn’t help but add another new nail paint to my collection. “Silvery Lilac” is a glittery iridescent nail paint and the hue changes from lilac to turquoise depending on the light. The application is quite sheer so definitely needs two to three coats to make it opaque on the nails.

I know that many other brands have bought out similar products in the past but for only £2.99 with such long lasting wear I would recommend Barry M nail polishes any day :)

Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint

This product instantly caught my eye when out shopping recently and completely stood out from the rest of the lip products on display. A green lipstick? Who would wear that? I decided to swatch it and was completely surprised. The green actually comes out pink and I couldn’t help but purchase it and give it a go.

When I got home I decided to do some further research on the Barry M website. This lip paint contains aloe vera and is extremely moisturising on the lips, which is ideal for me since mine tend to be on the dryer side! It also has a waterproof formula and is said to last on the lips for up to 8 hours and after wearing this a couple of times I can completely agree! It lasted a long time without drying out my lips or smudging!

Onto the colour! The product reacts with the alkaline levels on your lips and depending on your level it determines how pale or rich the colour will go. I’m not sure how true this is, however have noticed that the lighter you put this on the paler the pink and the more layers youu apply the darker the pink to the point it does go dark fuchsia/almost red.

At a very reasonable price of £4.49 I feel this is a fun product to use especially as spring is officially here and into the summer
